After much deliberation, Engen Books is proud to announce the winner of the November 2020 Kit Sora Flash Fiction Photography Contest: Dr. Lisa M Daly with the story, The First Queen!
Lisa M. Daly is a heritage specialist and an expert in Newfoundland and Labrador aviation history and archaeology. She has fiction published in Dystopia from the Rock and Pulp Science Fiction from the Rock. She was also an editor for Flights from the Rock, all through Engen Books. She has also done a great deal of non-fiction work, including a chapter in Canadians and War Vol. 3 with Lammi Publishing, a chapter in an upcoming textbook on aviation archaeology through Springer, and a presenter on Land and Sea in the episode Fallen War Birds. Lisa lives in St. John's with her husband and two troublesome, but adorable, cats.
We had three judges for this contest:

Drew Power is a currently seated member of the Sci-Fi on the Rock committee. He was recently featured as the model on the cover of the bestselling collection Chillers from the Rock. Ali House, an all-star author at Engen Books with a half dozen novels to her name and over two dozen short story credits all over the world. Her new novel, Variety Show, debuts in February from Engen Books.
