The Love of Summer, the debut novel from Sarah Thompson, has hit #1 on the Amazon.com free charts in the 'Lesbian Romance' category. The novel hit Bestseller status at 8:35AM Newfoundland Standard time on March 25, 2021, peaking at #451 on the overall Amazon.com charts and #7 on the LGBTQ Romance charts. The novel maintained its #1 position until 3:10PM Newfoundland Standard time on March 27, 2021.
Thompson has enjoyed repeated and continued success since the debut of the novel in January 2020, and with the release of its sequel, The Love of Julia, in January 2021. A third novel is in progress, and the series has been titled The Northbeach Romances.
Thompson is a former radio broadcaster and journalist from Grand Falls-Windsor, NL.
She was first published in the Engen Books compilation light|dark in 2010 with the science fiction story ‘Remers.’ She currently owns and operates her own dinner theatre business for which she writes the shows, including Leroy’s Diner, Going to the Chapel, and, I’ll Be Home For Christmas.
She is a big fan of the community theatre scene and can often be found performing or directing with the Off Broadway Players. Sarah lives with her wife and dog, Roger, in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.
Thompson continues her work in advocating for 2SLGBTQ+ representation in all genres of fiction in 2021, teaming up with editor AJ Ryan and two representatives from Quadrangle to produce a collection of 2SLGBTQ+ fiction from Engen Books. The collection is unnamed at this time.
