Engen Books and Quadrangle are proud to reveal the next three authors to be featured in A TOAST TO HOPE, the collaboration anthology featuring stories by and about the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Quadrangle’s mission is to create a community centre for 2SLGBTQAI+ individuals and organizations in Newfoundland and Labrador, a space that is a resource for building community resilience and connection, and that provides supports for existing initiatives of our 2SLGBTQAI+ community. As a registered charity, both working toward having a community centre, and taking up projects like this one contribute to Quad’s vision of contributing to sustainable, positive, community connections. All profits from this collection will go towards that goal.

The title of this year's collection will be A TOAST TO HOPE: Stories at the Centre of Us. It was named for one of the three stories blind-selected that were written by Lisa Timpf. Stories were selected by Ailsa Craig, Sulaimon Giwa, AJ Ryan, and, Sarah Thompson.

Engen is proud to announce that Bronwynne Erskine will return for the collection. Bronwynn Erskine is an Ontario native currently residing in Newfoundland. Erskine is an avid steampunk enthusiast and acrylic landscape painter. Erskine made their publishing debut in 2018’s Chillers from the Rock with their chilling tale: “Scarlett Ribbons,” returned in 2019’s Flights from the Rock with “Feather and Bone,” with  “The Lindwyrm’s Bride” in Mythology from the Rock, and was featured with three stories in Acceptance: Stories at the Centre of Us.

In 2023 they published their first novel, By Reservation Only, focusing on the exploits of a trans-superhero.
