Engen Books and Quadrangle are proud to reveal the next three authors to be featured in A TOAST TO HOPE, the collaboration anthology featuring stories by and about the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Quadrangle’s mission is to create a community centre for 2SLGBTQAI+ individuals and organizations in Newfoundland and Labrador, a space that is a resource for building community resilience and connection, and that provides supports for existing initiatives of our 2SLGBTQAI+ community. As a registered charity, both working toward having a community centre, and taking up projects like this one contribute to Quad’s vision of contributing to sustainable, positive, community connections. All profits from this collection will go towards that goal.
The title of this year's collection will be A TOAST TO HOPE: Stories at the Centre of Us. It was named for one of the three stories blind-selected that were written by Lisa Timpf. Stories were selected by Ailsa Craig, Sulaimon Giwa, AJ Ryan, and, Sarah Thompson.
Engen is proud to announce Angelique Fawns will join the collection. Angelique Fawns is a journalist and speculative fiction writer. She began her career writing articles about naked cave dwellers in Tenerife, Canary Islands, and hosting a radio show in Mooloolaba, Australia. Now she works full-time making television commercials for Global TV in Toronto. She writes fiction for fun and uses her journalism skills to promote editors, publishers and authors. She lives on a farm north of the city with her husband, daughter, horses, goats, chickens, and a Potcake rescue dog. Upon learning she was to be included in this collection, Fawns commented: "I am thrilled and honoured to be included with this Engen Books project. It is wonderful to see a press fostering and promoting homegrown talent."
Engen is proud to announce Chantal Boudreau will return for this collection. A Toronto native currently living in Nova Scotia, Boudreau is an avid and prolific author with over sixty credits to her name.
