David Reynolds, author of Superheroes: An Analysis of Popular Culture’s Modern Myths, Fawning, Fear and Frustration: A Collection of Teenage Poetry from the ’90s, and the seventh Cuffer Anthology collection, has been announced as the second author to be featured in the 2017 collection Fantasy from the Rock.
David Reynolds grew up in Harbour Grace, NL. He later studied at Memorial University, where he completed his BA in Philosophy and English Language and Literature in 2006 in addition to completing his MPhil in Humanities in 2008. His graduate research focused on the cultural significance of superhero narratives and culminated in his dissertation Superheroes: An Analysis of Popular Culture’s Modern Myths. Besides teaching English at Memorial University, he is a writer and an independent publisher who founded the Newfoundland-based publishing company Problematic Press.
He brings with him his story, ‘The Momentous Meeting of Siguror and the Young Deer;’ or, ‘How All Things Came to Be’ As Scribed by Ishmael the Idle.
