Inner Child launch / Compendium relaunch @ Hal Con 2011

Sunday, November 13th saw the release of yet another Engen Book: Inner Child by Matthew LeDrew, the 8th book in the Black Womb series.

As mentioned in a previous post, attendance at the launch was slight due to our being pared against the annual costume contest… but that’s fine. Hell, it’s almost better. Those that did come really wanted to be there and were dedicated to the art of the story. After I read from an early section of the story and Ellen read, a few people asked questions about what they’d heard before the talk changed into a general discussion of literature and fiction. And really, that’s great. It was almost like a third writing panel, and I love writing panels. Hell, I love writing panels so much I started Virtual Writing Panels. It’s the main reason we have this very blog.

It wasn’t all about me though. As mentioned (and pictured), we re-released Ellen’s first book, Compendium, to the international market as well. Fans of her work on Infinity can now find her solo work on Amazon and Chapters, and that’s an awesome leap forward. There’s a reason her stuff was re-released before mine: she’s a better writer than me. But don’t tell her I said that. 😉

All in all a great launch and a great day. Can’t wait to do it again next year, but right now I have to get things ready for April. What’s happening in April… we’ll have to see, won’t we?

Oh, and people, let me know what you think of Inner Child once you read it.
